Service-based architectures

Service-based architectures such as microservices support the construction of modular, loosely coupled services. And modular architecture approaches — such as miniservices — enable companies to accelerate application creation without increasing complexity. Services are provided via technology-agnostic APIs that reduce the complexity and effort of deployment, scaling and maintenance. The API-based design allows communication only via service-interface calls over the network, avoiding the risks of direct links, shared-memory models or direct read access to another team's data store.

Containers & portability

Cloud-native applications are based on containers, which provide a unified operating model for any technology environment and thus support true application portability, for example across public, private and hybrid cloud. Container technology uses the operating system's virtualisation functions to divide available computing resources among multiple applications while ensuring that applications are secure and isolated from each other. Cloud-native applications also scale horizontally, so additional application instances can be added easily. Application development for cloud-native approaches is based on agile methods with continuous-delivery and DevOps principles.

TechHub IoT

TechHub IoT is an IoT platform in which you can easily connect “things” — cars, lamps, sensor grids or anything else. The platform enables secure communication between “things” and interaction with cloud applications as a managed service.
